Porcelain Veneers vs. Teeth Whitening

If you have stained or discolored teeth, teeth whitening can give you back your bright, white smile. Powerful teeth whitening procedures are performed in the dentist’s office, lightening your stained teeth by as many as six or seven shades in a single treatment.

Dr. LeSueur and Dr. Dodaro offer BioLase Laser Bleaching for in-office tooth whitening. In this procedure, your gums are painted with a protective gel while your teeth are painted with a whitening agent. Dr. LeSueur and Dr. Dodaro then use a laser light to activate the whitening agent, providing rapid, painless, dramatic whitening. The also offer Zoom! tooth whitening, which is a perfect procedure to use in combination with another procedure.

If you would prefer an at-home treatment, Dr. LeSueur and Dr. Dodaro offer the UltraDent take-home kit. The UltraDent kit consists of specially made trays. The whitening agent is placed in the trays, and you can wear them either overnight or for an hour each day.

If the staining on your teeth won’t respond to tooth whitening treatments, Dr. LeSueur and Dr. Dodaro might recommend porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are specially color-matched to your natural teeth. Wafer-thin, partially translucent shells of porcelain, veneers are affixed to your teeth and can cover any major discoloration that can’t be corrected with tooth whitening.

For an initial consultation to determine how to treat your stained teeth, please contact Dr. Scott LeSueur and Dr. Charles Dodaro. Providing teeth whitening and other cosmetic dentistry procedures in the Mesa, Scottsdale, and Phoenix, Arizona area, we’ll be happy to answer your questions and help you achieve a white, beautiful smile.

If I am about to choose between porcelain veneers and tooth whitening, I'd rather choose porcelain veneers to avoid too much cost, as long as I choose the best specialist dentist I know that the result will be fine.
