Sedation Dentistry

Serving Phoenix, Mesa and Scottsdale, Arizona

Scottsdale Sedation DentistryDental phobia is an extremely common but unfortunate condition. Many people have had difficult, painful or traumatic experiences in the dentist’s office. When you’ve had that kind of experience, it’s sometimes hard to overcome your anxiety even to have routine dental work done.

While this kind of anxiety is understandable, if it keeps you from maintaining proper oral health, it becomes more than just a minor inconvenience. If you put off regular dental care for too long, by the time you do make it to the dentist, you could have a large amount of work to be done.

Dr. LeSueur and Dr. Dodaro want nothing more than for you to be comfortable and relaxed during your visits. To help you overcome your anxiety, they offer sedation dentistry in their Mesa, Arizona dentistry offices.

Sedation dentistry allows you to be completely relaxed during your visit. Even if you have a large amount of dental work to be done, you’ll be calm and stress-free. Your dental visit will fly by, and be over before you know it.

To reduce your tension and anxiety, you’ll receive a light sedative before your visit, or be given nitrous oxide while you’re in the dentist’s chair. Both methods are extremely effective and safe. If you require a sedative, you’ll want to arrange to have a ride home, as it will take a few hours to wear off. Nitrous oxide, on the other hand, wears off much more quickly.

Whichever kind of sedation dentistry you receive, you can expect to experience a sleepy, floaty feeling during your appointment. Some people who’ve taken advantage of sedation dentistry compare it to a refreshing nap. Sedation dentistry is so effective, in fact, that you can even have several procedures completed in one appointment.
