To reduce your tension and anxiety, you’ll receive a light sedative before your visit, or be given nitrous oxide while you’re in the dentist’s chair. Both methods are extremely effective and safe. If you require a sedative, you’ll want to arrange to have a ride home, as it will take a few hours to wear off. Nitrous oxide, on the other hand, wears off much more quickly.
