TMJ Symptoms

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) is a painful condition that occurs when your jaw becomes misaligned. It often results in chronic, painful, and debilitating symptoms which can significantly impact your life. Unfortunately, TMJ is often misdiagnosed because doctors do not recognize the symptoms as being caused by jaw misalignment. In order to properly diagnose and treat TMJ, you will need to work with an experienced neuromuscular dentist.

Common TMJ symptoms include :

  • Headaches
  • Neck, jaw, shoulder, back, or facial pain
  • Ear pain
  • Clicking and popping sound in your jaw
  • Limited jaw mobility and locking jaw
  • Numbness and tingling in the neck and arms
  • Difficulty chewing or a sudden uncomfortable bite
  • Facial swelling
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)

Dr. LeSueur and Dr. Dodaro have trained at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), the premier cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry teaching facility in the nation.
