Relievable TMJ / TMD Symptoms
Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD ) treatments are performed to reposition the temporomandibular joints and relieve any pain caused by the misalignment of the joints. There are two temporomandibular joints located on either side of the lower jaw. When they become misaligned, several symptoms can develop and lead to facial pain. Other TMD/TMJ symptoms include:
- Migraine-like headaches
- Pain in the face, neck, shoulders, and back
- Popping or clicking of the jaw
- Ringing in the ears
Neuromuscular dentists Dr. LeSueur, Dr. Glenn LeSueur, and Dr. Dodaro in Phoenix may suggest surgery only if non-surgical TMD/TMJ treatments have been unsuccessful in correcting your problems. TMD/TMJ surgery is usually only needed for severe cases and is used as a last treatment option
