Can I Do Anything At Home?Â
You can’t fix the tooth at home! Please don’t try to glue the chipped part of the tooth back on (yes, really). A fixed tooth can only be fixed by a dentist; however, there are some things you can do in the meantime before your dentist’s visit.
- Rinse your mouth with lukewarm water
- If there is bleeding, apply some light pleasure with some gauze
- If bleeding does not stop with gauze, use a tea bag
If you can’t immediately get in to see the dentist, you can purchase dental cement found at most drug stores to help stop any building and bring relief from pain.Â
What Will The Dentist Do To Help With A Chipped Tooth?Â
It’s important to note that there is a difference between a chipped tooth and a cracked tooth, both of which require different treatments. With a chipped tooth, a dentist will typically use a permanent dental filling to repair the situation.
The dentist will walk you through the procedure depending on the situation and will have the primary goal of ensuring no further damage occurs and, if there is any pain, to minimize or outright eliminate the pain.
