Why go to a dentist for Invisalign?

If you have considered straightening your teeth, you may have avoided having that conversation with your dentist for fear of being told metal bracket and wire braces are your only choice. Now, patients with mild to moderate misalignment of the teeth can achieve their dream smile without traditional orthodontia. Drs. Scott LeSueur, Glenn LeSueur, and Charles Dodaro of Drs of Smiles Gentle Family Dentistry are pleased to offer an alternative called Invisalign.

How does Invisalign work?

Instead of having brackets glued to the teeth and metal wires attaching them together to reposition them, patients can now achieve similar results with a treatment known as Invisalign. Invisalign eliminates the need for brackets and wires, and instead repositions teeth with the use of clear plastic aligner trays. This allows patients to have a more discrete treatment and eliminate the embarrassment of traditional straightening methods. To straighten the teeth with Invisalign aligners, patients have a series of digital impressions taken of their current smile. Then, the Invisalign team creates a series of trays for patients. Each tray is worn in order for two weeks at a time. As patients progress through their series, their smile is gradually realigned into better position for appearance and bite alignment.

Why should I visit my dentist for Invisalign?

Referrals to orthodontists are a thing of the past! The team at Drs of Smiles Gentle Family Dentistry help patients obtain, use, and enjoy their Invisalign aligners. Aligners require less in-office visits and eliminates the need to work with a professional patients have never worked with before in the past. Patients can work with the dentist they already know and trust to achieve better alignment of the smile in a less invasive manner.
